These Terms & Conditions apply to services provided by Piano Con Brio by Maria Welch (“Piano Con Brio,” “Maria,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). By booking piano instruction, live piano performance, accompaniment, or another service, you acknowledge and agree to the applicable terms below.
Piano Instruction
Piano lessons are offered based on availability and may take place at Maria’s Hyde Park piano studio or in a student’s home, depending on the service selected and location.
Lesson schedules, frequency, duration, location, and applicable rates will be communicated and agreed upon prior to beginning instruction.
Lesson Cancellations & Make-Up Lessons
Lessons canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed without notice, are forfeited.
Each student is entitled to one make-up lesson per quarter as a courtesy. Make-up lessons are scheduled during regular studio hours and are subject to teacher availability.
It is the responsibility of the student or parent/guardian to request and arrange an eligible make-up lesson.
If Maria must cancel a scheduled lesson, a make-up lesson will be offered at a mutually agreeable time.
In-Home Piano Lessons
In-home piano lessons are available within Maria’s designated Chicago service area and are subject to location and scheduling availability.
Students receiving in-home instruction are responsible for providing an appropriate piano or keyboard and a suitable environment for instruction.
Availability for in-home lessons may vary based on travel distance and scheduling.
Live Piano Performance & Accompaniment
Live piano performance and accompaniment services are subject to Maria’s availability and the specific requirements of each event or engagement.
Details including the event date, time, location, performance duration, repertoire, accompaniment needs, and other relevant arrangements will be discussed prior to confirming a booking.
Any additional booking terms specific to an event or performance will be communicated to the client before the engagement is confirmed.
Event & Performance Changes
Clients should notify Maria as soon as possible of any changes to an event’s date, time, location, performance requirements, or other important details.
Changes are subject to availability and may require adjustments to the original agreement or pricing.
Repertoire & Musical Requests
Maria welcomes requests and will work with clients to create music appropriate for their event or performance. Specific repertoire requests should be communicated with sufficient time for preparation.
The ability to accommodate particular songs, arrangements, or performance requests may depend on availability, suitability, preparation requirements, and access to appropriate sheet music or arrangements.
Client Responsibilities
Clients and students are responsible for providing accurate information when submitting inquiries and communicating any relevant changes in a timely manner.
For performances, the client is responsible for ensuring that Maria has reasonable access to the performance location and any venue-specific information necessary to provide the agreed-upon service.

We make reasonable efforts to ensure that information presented on this website is accurate and current. Services, availability, policies, and other information may be updated from time to time.
Submitting an inquiry through this website does not guarantee lesson availability or confirm a performance booking.
Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, written content, branding, photographs, graphics, and other original materials appearing on this website are owned by or used with permission by Piano Con Brio by Maria Welch and may not be reproduced or used without permission.
Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Piano Con Brio by Maria Welch is not responsible for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from use of this website or participation in services.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to exclude or limit rights or liabilities that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
